Does Pluang Offer Expiry-Dated Futures, or Only Perpetual Futures?

Pluang only offers perpetual futures contracts — there is no expiry-dated futures option available on the platform, and this isn't something you can toggle or select when opening a position. Every Crypto Futures contract on Pluang has no settlement date and can be held indefinitely, using a funding rate mechanism to keep the contract price anchored to the spot market instead of converging toward a fixed expiry.

  • Perpetual futures — what you get on Pluang: No expiry date, so you can hold a long or short position for as long as you maintain sufficient margin. A periodic funding rate between longs and shorts keeps the perpetual price close to the spot index.
  • Expiry futures — not available on Pluang: Some other exchanges offer dated futures that settle automatically on a fixed date with no funding rate. Pluang does not offer this contract type, with no exception by asset or leverage tier.
  • What this means for you: No force-closed positions from an expiry date, no contract rollovers — a perpetual position only closes when you close it manually or when it's liquidated.
  • Pricing: Perpetual futures trade at a premium or discount to spot (the basis), regulated by the funding rate rather than time decay toward a settlement date.
  • Why Pluang chose perpetual-only: One contract type per asset, no expiry calendar to track, and no rollover mechanics to learn.
