What Happens to My Account When I Freeze It?
When you freeze your Pluang account, you are logged out on every device — including the one you froze from — and the account stays locked until you unfreeze it. You can still log in — that is how you start the unfreeze — but logging in takes you to identity verification rather than into your account, so you cannot view your portfolio, check your balances, or perform any action until verification passes. Placing new buy or sell orders is blocked, setting up new Auto Invest is blocked, and money-out is blocked until you unfreeze: cashout and Crypto Send. The account is genuinely locked rather than simply hidden, so the lock holds on any device an attacker might try. Your assets and balances are never touched — nothing is sold, moved, or converted. To regain access you log in again and pass Face Match and Liveness Check in the Pluang app.
Access — what a frozen account looks like:
- Every active session ends immediately; all devices are logged out at once
- Logging in starts identity verification instead of opening the account
- You cannot view your portfolio, holdings, balances, or transaction history while frozen
- The lock applies across every device and every login, not just the one you used
Blocked while frozen:
- New buy and sell orders across all asset classes
- New Auto Invest setups
- Cashout and withdrawals
- Crypto Send
- Changes to your account details
Not affected:
- Your assets, holdings, and balances — nothing is sold, moved, or converted
- Orders that were already open or pending before you froze the account, which stay live
- Your account itself, which is not closed or deactivated and can be unfrozen at any time
Related questions:
Q: Can I still see my portfolio while my account is frozen?
No. Logging in on a frozen account takes you to identity verification, not to your portfolio, so you cannot view your holdings, balances, or transaction history until you unfreeze. This is deliberate — the point of freezing is to shut out anyone who has your credentials, and a read-only view would still expose your holdings to them. Your full portfolio returns the moment you unfreeze, exactly as you left it, with every holding and every transaction record intact.
Q: Will freezing log out the device I am using right now?
Yes. Freezing ends every active session including the one you are freezing from, so you are logged out as soon as the freeze takes effect. This is intentional: if an attacker were the one holding a valid session, leaving any session alive would defeat the purpose of the lock. The same applies to any Web Trading session you have open, which is closed at the same moment.
Q: Does freezing my account sell my assets?
No. Freezing never sells, moves, or converts anything you hold. Your gold, crypto, stocks, mutual funds, and cash balances all stay exactly as they were. Freezing only blocks access to the account and the ability to move money out — it does not change what you own or its quantity. Prices will still move with the market while you are locked out, but the quantity you hold does not change.
Q: Is my account closed when I freeze it?
No. Freezing is a temporary lock, not a closure, and it is completely reversible. Your account still exists with all its data, assets, and history intact. This is different from deactivating an account, which is a permanent closure process with its own prerequisites and a Customer Service request to reverse. There is also no limit on how many times you can freeze and unfreeze.
