Why Can't I Withdraw Funds or Send Crypto for 24 Hours After Unfreezing?

After you unfreeze your Pluang account, cashout and Crypto Send stay blocked for 24 hours as a cooling-off measure. This is a deliberate security design: if someone other than you had managed to unfreeze the account, the hold means they still cannot move money out immediately, which gives you time to notice and act. Everything else works again as soon as the account is active — you can log in, view your portfolio, and buy and sell normally. The 24 hours are counted from the moment your unfreeze succeeds, using Pluang's server time rather than your device clock, and both actions re-enable automatically when the window ends. You do not need to contact anyone or take any action to lift it.

What is blocked during the 24-hour window:

  • Cashout and withdrawals to a bank account or e-wallet
  • Crypto Send

What works immediately after unfreezing: logging in, viewing your portfolio and balances, buying and selling across all asset classes, and every other account function.

Key details:

  • The window starts at the moment your unfreeze succeeds, measured on server time
  • Both actions re-enable automatically — no request or ticket is needed
  • If the window ends while you are using the app, the actions become available again without logging out and back in
  • If you freeze and unfreeze again, the 24 hours restart from the most recent unfreeze
  • The hold still applies if Pluang Care assisted with your unfreeze

This hold stacks with Pluang's other security holds. If you also change your PIN, reset your Authenticator, or change your registered email or phone number around the same time, those locks apply on top of this one rather than running concurrently, so the total wait can be longer than 24 hours.

Related questions:

Q: Can I ask Pluang Care to lift the 24-hour hold early?
No. The hold is automatic and applies to every unfreeze, including one that Pluang Care assisted with. It cannot be shortened on request, because being able to lift it on request would defeat its purpose — an attacker could simply ask. It expires by itself exactly 24 hours after your unfreeze succeeded, measured on server time rather than your device clock.

Q: Can I still buy and sell during the hold?
Yes. The hold covers only cashout and Crypto Send. Buying, selling, viewing your portfolio, and all other account functions work normally the moment your account returns to active. Only the routes that move money out of Pluang are held back, which is what makes the window a cooling-off period rather than a full lock.

Q: What if I freeze and unfreeze more than once?
The 24-hour window restarts from your most recent unfreeze each time. Freezing again during an active hold and then unfreezing does not carry over the time already served — the clock resets, so repeated freezing and unfreezing extends rather than shortens the wait. There is no limit on how often you can freeze, but each cycle restarts the hold.

Q: How do I know when the hold ends?
Pluang sends a notification when the hold has ended, confirming that cashout and Crypto Send are available again. You are also told why they are unavailable and when they return while the hold is still running. If the window ends mid-session, both re-enable without you needing to log out and back in.
