Staking is the process of locking your crypto assets to support a blockchain network. In return, you earn rewards, similar to earning interest on a deposit.
Simply choose a supported crypto, set the amount you’d like to stake, and confirm the transaction. Your rewards will start accruing based on the asset’s APR.
The staking process consists of 3 main phases:
- Bonding Period:
- When you first stake your crypto, it enters a bonding period, which is a lock-up phase required by the network to validate and secure your stake. During this time, your assets are not yet earning rewards and cannot be used for other transactions.
- Earning Period:
- Once the bonding period ends, your assets begin earning rewards automatically. You’ll continue receiving rewards as long as your assets stay staked.
- Unbonding Period:
- If you choose to unstake, your assets will go through an unbonding period, which is a waiting time before they’re returned to your spot balance. During this phase, your assets are locked, no longer earn rewards, and remain unavailable for use. This process helps the network maintain security and order.
Rewards are distributed based on each crypto asset’s reward distribution frequency. You can monitor your rewards directly from your portfolio.
Staking on Pluang is free. However, it is subject to Income Tax and VAT in accordance with regulations.
