FAQ article

Are My Assets and Balance Safe While My Account Is Frozen?

Yes. Freezing your Pluang account does not sell, move, convert, or reduce anything you hold. Your gold, crypto, US stocks, Indonesian stocks, mutual funds, and every cash balance stay exactly as they were at the moment you froze the account, and they remain legally yours throughout. Freezing is a lock on access, not on ownership — it blocks anyone, including an attacker holding your credentials, from logging in or moving money out. Nothing is transferred to Pluang and nothing is liquidated. When you unfreeze, your full portfolio is there as you left it. The one thing freezing cannot do is pause the market: asset prices keep moving while you are locked out, so the market value of what you hold can rise or fall in the meantime.

What stays untouched while frozen:

  • All holdings across every asset class — nothing is sold, redeemed, or converted
  • All cash balances, including IDR and USD wallets
  • Your transaction history and account records
  • Your ownership, which never transfers to Pluang at any point

What freezing actually blocks: access to the account and every money-out route — cashout and Crypto Send — until you unfreeze. That is the protection: an attacker with your PIN and OTP still cannot extract anything.

The one exception to be aware of: freezing does not stop market movement, and it does not cancel orders that were already open or pending before the freeze. Those orders stay live and can still execute while your account is locked.

Related questions:

Q: Can Pluang take or use my assets while my account is frozen?
No. Your assets remain your property throughout and are never transferred to Pluang. Freezing is a security state on your account, not a claim on what you own, and it is triggered by you rather than imposed by Pluang. Nothing about the frozen state changes the ownership or custody arrangements that applied before you froze it, and nothing is liquidated at any point.

Q: Will I lose money if the market moves while I am frozen?
Freezing does not protect you from market movement. Prices keep changing while you are locked out, so the value of your holdings can go up or down exactly as it would otherwise. If that matters for your situation, unfreeze promptly — the process is self-serve and needs only Face Match and Liveness Check in the app. The quantity you hold never changes, only its market value.

Q: Does freezing protect me if someone already has my PIN and OTP?
Yes, for moving money. A frozen account blocks cashout and Crypto Send regardless of who is trying, so someone holding your credentials still cannot extract funds. Note that anyone with your PIN and OTP can also trigger a freeze, which is one more reason never to share either with anyone. Unfreezing, by contrast, needs your face and cannot be done by someone else.
