Why Does My Crypto Futures Position Still Show After I Closed It?
Your close may still be processing, so wait a moment and refresh. If the position is still there, check whether you closed only part of it, since the remaining quantity stays open, or whether you used a Limit Close, which waits until the market reaches your price. If the close failed, the position stays open, so try again.
| Symptom / Condition | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| The position still shows right after you closed it. | The close is still being processed. | Wait a moment, then refresh the Positions screen. |
| A smaller position is still open. | You closed only part of the position. With a partial close, the remaining quantity stays open. | Check the quantity you entered. To close everything, leave the quantity at 100%, which is the default. |
| A small amount is still open after you closed a set quantity. | Close quantities round down to the nearest multiple of the contract's minimum size, which can leave a small remainder. | Close the remaining quantity. Closing at 100% closes whatever is left. |
| You placed a Limit Close, but the position is still fully open. | A Limit Close waits until the market trades at your price or better. | Wait for it to fill, or cancel it and use a Market Close for immediate execution. See CFT-FEAT-TS-006. |
| The close didn't go through. | The close order failed, for example because the quantity was below the contract's minimum. | The position stays open. Check the message the app showed, correct the order, and try again. |
| The app asks you to refresh when you try to close again. | You submitted another close while the first one was still processing. | Refresh and check the position before you submit another close, so you can see what is still open. |

Related questions:
Q: How do I close the whole position at once?
Open Close position, leave the quantity at the default 100%, and confirm. A Market Close executes immediately at the best available price.
Q: Is my position still at risk while a Limit Close is pending?
Yes. Until the Limit Close fills, the position stays open, so its P&L keeps changing and it can still be liquidated.
Q: What happens to my TP/SL after a partial close?
They stay active and are reduced proportionally to match the remaining position. They are cancelled only once the position fully closes.
Q: Can I have several Limit Close orders pending at once?
Yes, as long as together they don't exceed your open position. A new Limit Close that would go over the remaining quantity is reduced automatically to fit.
