Why Did My Crypto Futures TP/SL Orders Disappear?
TP/SL orders are cancelled automatically when their position fully closes, whether you closed it yourself, a TP or SL filled, or the position was liquidated. If TP and SL were submitted together as an OCO pair, one executing cancels the other. After a partial close, they are reduced proportionally rather than removed.
| Symptom / Condition | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| All your TP/SL orders are gone and the position no longer shows. | The position fully closed, through your own close, a TP or SL filling, or liquidation. All TP/SL orders on a position are cancelled automatically once it fully closes. | This is expected. If you open a new position, set new TP/SL for it. |
| Your Stop Loss disappeared after your Take Profit executed, or the other way round. | They were an OCO pair, submitted together. When one side executes, the other is cancelled automatically. | This is expected. If part of your position is still open, add a new TP/SL to protect it. |
| Your TP/SL is still there, but its quantity is smaller. | You partially closed the position. The remaining TP/SL orders are reduced proportionally to match the smaller position. | No action needed. They stay active for the remaining size. |
| An old TP/SL shows as cancelled after you amended it. | Amending a TP/SL cancels the existing order and recreates it with your new values. | Look for the new TP/SL order with your updated values. |
| Your TP/SL is gone, but the position is still open. | The order may have been cancelled manually. | Check Transaction History for the order and its cancellation, then add TP/SL again from the Positions screen if you still need it. |
| You placed a new Limit Close and think it removed your TP/SL. | A new Limit Close never cancels TP/SL orders. It can only cancel earlier pending Limit Close orders. | Check whether the position fully closed, which does cancel TP/SL. Otherwise, check Transaction History for a cancellation. |

Related questions:
Q: Why is one of my Take Profits still active after another one executed?
TP/SL orders created separately are Independent, so one executing doesn't cancel the other. The remaining orders are reduced to match your smaller position and are cancelled once the position fully closes.
Q: Do my TP/SL carry over to a new position on the same contract?
No. TP/SL orders are cancelled when the position fully closes, so a new position starts without any. Set TP/SL again when you open it or afterwards.
Q: Does placing a Limit Close cancel my TP/SL?
No. A new Limit Close can cancel only earlier pending Limit Close orders, never TP/SL orders.
Q: Does adding to my position update my TP/SL?
No. TP/SL quantity doesn't increase when your position grows, so create a new TP/SL to cover the added size.
