Is There a Fee When Selling a Mutual Fund on Pluang?

No, Pluang does not charge a fee when selling a mutual fund. As of September 2026, Pluang's admin fee applies to purchases paid with GoPay (Rp4,500 per transaction) or Virtual Account (Rp5,500 per transaction), plus 11% VAT on that fee, and apart from this, mutual fund investments in the Pluang app are not subject to any additional fees. Pluang does not charge stamp duty either: the stamp duty notified by KSEI is borne by Pluang until further notice. The amount you receive can still differ from the amount shown when you sold, for two reasons. First, if the bank receiving your proceeds is different from the bank that holds the mutual fund (bank penampung), your bank deducts an interbank transfer fee, estimated at Rp2,500 to Rp30,000 per transaction. Second, your sale is calculated at the final NAB listed after your transaction is verified, not the previous exchange day's NAB shown when you created it. Costs set by the fund itself are listed in its Prospectus and Fund Fact Sheet.

Related questions:

Q: Why did I receive less than my sale amount?
There are two common reasons. First, if the bank receiving your proceeds is different from the bank that holds the mutual fund, your bank deducts an interbank transfer fee, estimated at Rp2,500 to Rp30,000 per transaction. Second, the amount shown when you created the sale was based on the previous exchange day's NAB, while your sale is calculated at the final NAB listed after your transaction has been verified.

Q: Is stamp duty deducted from my mutual fund sale proceeds?
No. As of September 2026, Pluang does not charge stamp duty (bea meterai) on mutual funds, so none is deducted when you sell. The stamp duty notified by KSEI, the transaction guarantor for mutual funds on Pluang, is borne by Pluang for the time being, until further notice. If this arrangement changes, this article will be updated with the new rule.

Q: What is a redemption fee, or mutual fund selling fee?
A redemption fee, also called a sell fee, is the general term for a fee for selling mutual fund units. Pluang does not add one of its own: apart from the admin fee on GoPay and Virtual Account purchases, mutual fund investments in the Pluang app are not subject to any additional Pluang fees. Costs set by each fund are listed in its Prospectus and Fund Fact Sheet, which you can open by tapping "Prospectus" at the bottom of the fund's asset page.

Q: Is there a fee if I switch funds instead of selling?
No. Switching from one mutual fund to another is free on Pluang. Switching only works between funds managed by the same investment manager, some funds cannot be switched, and USD mutual funds cannot be switched yet. To move to a fund from a different investment manager, you sell and then buy as two separate transactions, and the new purchase follows the usual payment methods and admin fee.

Q: How long does it take to receive the money from a mutual fund sale?
A maximum of 7 business days from when the investment manager receives your sell order, in line with OJK regulation 23/POJK.04/2016 Article 24. Before the transfer, the investment manager verifies your sale: on the next business day for sales before 13:00 WIB, or within 2 exchange days for sales at or after 13:00 WIB or on non-exchange days.
