Which Investments Count for the Pluang Referral Requirement?
The investments that count towards the Pluang referral requirement are gold, crypto assets, US stocks, and ETFs, whether the ETF is US-listed or listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Your friend must buy at least Rp1,000,000 of one of these in a single transaction. Several smaller purchases are not added together, even in the same asset. The Leverage feature can be used, as long as the final amount of the transaction is at least Rp1,000,000. Other products, such as Indonesian stocks, mutual funds, Crypto Futures and US Stock Options, are not named as qualifying, so a purchase of those does not complete the referral. After the qualifying purchase, your friend keeps that investment, or keeps a portfolio worth at least Rp1,000,000, for 45 days. The purchase and the 45-day hold must both be finished within 365 days of entering your code.
Counts, in one transaction of at least Rp1,000,000:
- Gold
- Crypto assets
- US stocks
- ETFs, both US-listed and listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange
- A position opened with the Leverage feature, if its final transaction amount is at least Rp1,000,000
Does not count:
- Indonesian stocks, mutual funds, Crypto Futures and US Stock Options, and any other product not named above
- Two or more smaller purchases that only add up to Rp1,000,000
- A purchase below Rp1,000,000 that later grows in value to Rp1,000,000 or more
Your friend's verification must cover the asset. Basic Verification is enough to buy gold and crypto assets. US stocks and US-listed ETFs also need Global & Yield Asset Verification, and other assets may need a further verification step too; the app shows what is required before your friend can buy.
Worked example. Your friend buys Rp600,000 of crypto and, a week later, Rp600,000 of gold. Neither purchase qualifies, because each is below Rp1,000,000 on its own. If they then buy Rp1,000,000 of a US-listed or IDX-listed ETF in one transaction and keep it for 45 days, the referral succeeds.

Q: Do ETFs listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange count for the Pluang referral?
Yes. ETFs count whether they are listed in the US or on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, as long as your friend buys at least Rp1,000,000 in a single transaction and keeps it, or a portfolio of at least Rp1,000,000, for 45 days. Indonesian stocks themselves are not named as qualifying, so buying shares of an IDX-listed company does not complete the referral.
Q: Does a leveraged trade count for the Pluang referral Rp1,000,000 requirement?
Yes, if the final amount of the transaction is at least Rp1,000,000. The terms allow the Leverage feature for the qualifying investment on that basis. Your friend still needs to keep the position, or a portfolio of at least Rp1,000,000, for 45 days from the purchase date. Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains, so it should suit the friend's own risk tolerance rather than be used only to reach the threshold.
Q: Does the value of my friend's investment matter after the purchase?
Only the purchase amount matters, not later price moves. The terms give the example of Rp1,000,000 of gold that falls to Rp980,000 during the 45 days: it still qualifies, because it was not sold. A purchase of Rp900,000 that rises to Rp1,000,000 does not qualify, because the purchase itself was below the minimum. The 45 days are counted from the purchase date.
