Why does Pluang say my NIK is already registered?
Pluang allows one account per NIK, so this message means your e-KTP is already linked to a Pluang account, most often one you opened earlier and forgot about. You can't open a second account; recover the existing one instead. If you're sure you never registered with Pluang or a partner app, contact Pluang Care.
| Symptom / Condition | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| You may have signed up for Pluang before, perhaps years ago or with an old phone number | Your NIK is linked to that earlier account | Log in with the phone number you used back then. If that number no longer works, contact Pluang Care to change it so you can get back into the account |
| You've used gold or investment features in another app that works with Pluang, such as GoInvestasi, Blibli or DANA | Your identity may already be registered with Pluang through that app | Contact Pluang Care so the team can tell you which account your NIK is linked to and how to access it |
| You deactivated your Pluang account in the past | A deactivated account stays linked to your NIK | Contact Pluang Care and ask about reactivating your account instead of registering again |
| You want to start fresh with a new account | One NIK can only ever be linked to one Pluang account, and that link can't be removed | Recover your existing account instead. Your NIK can't be moved to a new account |
| You're sure you never registered with Pluang or any partner app | The NIK may have been typed wrongly, or someone else may have used your NIK | Check the NIK you entered digit by digit. If it's correct, contact Pluang Care with a photo of your e-KTP so the team can investigate |

Related questions:
Q: Can I delete my old account so I can register again?
No. Pluang keeps account data for at least 5 years as required by law, and accounts can only be deactivated, so your NIK stays linked to it.
Q: Can I use the same phone number or email on two accounts?
No. Each NIK, phone number and email can be linked to only one Pluang account.
Q: Can a family member register using my e-KTP?
No. Every account must be registered and verified with the account holder's own e-KTP.
Q: Will my old balance and assets still be there?
Whatever is in that account stays in it. Recovering the account gives you back access to its balances, assets and transaction history.
