What Time Does the Gold Price on Pluang Update?

The gold price on Pluang does not update at a fixed time: it changes from time to time as the global gold price (XAU/USD) and the Rupiah exchange rate move, so there is no set hour to wait for. The price is set by PT Pluang Emas Sejahtera, the licensed gold trader behind Pluang Gold, which follows the XAU/USD spot price and also refers to ANTAM as a reference so the price stays competitive. Because the price can move while you are deciding, the one that applies to your transaction is the price on the review screen when you swipe up to confirm, not one you saw earlier. You can see the latest price on the gold page in the app at any time, and your holding is revalued at the mid price as the price moves, even on days when you do not trade.

What moves the Pluang gold price

  • The global gold price, XAU/USD, which is quoted in US dollars
  • The Rupiah exchange rate, because the price in the app is in Rupiah
  • ANTAM gold prices, used as a reference
  • The floating spread between the buy and sell price, which can also change from time to time

No fixed update time. Because the price follows markets that keep moving, Pluang does not publish an update hour or a price schedule. Treat any price you saw earlier as a guide only.

The price that applies. Enter an amount and open the review screen ("Review Purchase" when buying): the price there is the one used when you swipe up to confirm. If you leave the screen and come back later, check the price again.

Three prices, one movement. The buy price, the sell price and the mid price between them all move with the gold price. Your holding is valued at the mid price, so its Rupiah value changes whenever the price does, while your grams stay the same.

Related questions:

Q: Is the Pluang gold price live?
It moves with the market. The price changes from time to time as the global gold price (XAU/USD) and the Rupiah exchange rate move, and there is no fixed hour for updates, so the price you see on the gold page is the latest one available to you. The price that counts for your trade is the one on the review screen when you swipe up to confirm, so check it there rather than relying on a figure you saw earlier in the day.

Q: Why is the Pluang gold price different from the ANTAM price in the news?
ANTAM is one reference for the Pluang gold price, not the price itself. The Pluang price also follows the global XAU/USD price and the Rupiah exchange rate, and it is quoted as separate buy and sell prices with a floating spread between them, so it will rarely match a published ANTAM figure exactly. A news price may also be for a different moment or a different product. The article “Why is the Pluang gold price different?” (GOLD-PROD-G-013) explains the differences in detail.

Q: Why did my gold value change when I did not trade?
Your holding is valued at the mid price, the midpoint between the buy and sell price, and that price moves with the gold price and the Rupiah. So the Rupiah value of your gold changes on its own as the market moves, while the number of grams you own stays exactly the same. A lower value does not mean you have lost gold; it means the same grams are currently worth less, and the value can rise again when the price does.

Q: Can the price change while I am on the buy screen?
Yes. The price can move between the moment you open the gold page and the moment you confirm, because it follows the global gold price and the Rupiah. That is why the review screen matters: after you enter an amount and tap "Review Purchase", it shows the buy price, the fee and the tax, and those are what apply when you swipe up. If you wait a while before confirming, check the price on the review screen again.
