FAQ article

What are the fees for gold transactions on Pluang?

Gold purchases on Pluang carry a 0.15% third-party transaction fee, charged by the market infrastructure that records and guarantees the trade — ICDX and ICH. Gold sales carry no transaction fee. Separately, a storage/maintenance fee of 0.01 grams per month applies only to users who have been inactive for 6 consecutive months and still hold a gold balance; Pluang Plus members are exempt. Fees charged are subject to 11% VAT (PPN). Pluang's own margin comes from the buy/sell spread, not a commission.

Who the 0.15% purchase fee goes to: it is a third-party fee, not a Pluang commission. It goes to the market infrastructure that records and guarantees your gold trade — Bursa Komoditi dan Derivatif Indonesia (ICDX), the commodity exchange where every Pluang gold transaction is recorded, and Indonesia Clearing House (ICH), the clearing house that guarantees it.

Why there is no fee when you sell: the third-party fee applies to the purchase side only. Pluang earns its own margin through the buy/sell spread — the difference between the buy and sell price you see before confirming — rather than through a separate sell commission.

Storage fee — inactivity criteria:

The storage fee is charged on the 1st of each month to users who meet ALL of the following:

  • Have been inactive for 6 consecutive months, AND
  • Still hold a gold balance

Inactive means no activity in any of these transaction types during the past 6 months:

  • Buy / Sell Gold
  • Buy / Sell US Stocks, Crypto, Options, or Crypto Futures
  • Buy / Sell assets via Pocket
  • Gold Installment monthly payment
  • IDR ↔ USD conversion
  • Successful IDR or USD top-up

Pluang Plus members are fully exempt from the storage fee regardless of activity.

Related questions:

Q: Is there any fee when I sell gold on Pluang?
No transaction fee applies when you sell. The 0.15% third-party fee is charged on purchases only. What affects your sale proceeds is the buy/sell spread, which is built into the sell price shown before you confirm.

Q: Who receives the 0.15% fee on my gold purchase?
It goes to ICDX, the commodity exchange where your transaction is recorded, and ICH, the clearing house that guarantees it. It is a third-party fee rather than a Pluang commission.

Q: Is VAT added on top of the gold fees?
Yes. 11% VAT (PPN) applies to the fees charged — the 0.15% purchase fee and the storage fee. The VAT is calculated on the fee amount, not on the gold value.

Q: How do I avoid the gold storage fee?
Stay active — make at least one qualifying transaction (buy/sell gold, top up, etc.) within any 6-month period. Pluang Plus members are permanently exempt. The deduction, when it applies, is 0.01 grams taken on the 1st of the month.

Q: Are there any other gold fees I should know about?
Physical gold withdrawal carries additional printing and shipping fees, plus 3% delivery insurance — all deducted in gold grams from your balance rather than charged in rupiah.
