How Do I Read Economic and Earnings Event Details on Event Calendar?

Tap any event row in Event Calendar to open its detail sheet. For an economic event, such as US CPI or Bank Indonesia's rate decision, the sheet shows the event title and its source, then three figures with their unit: Forecast (what the market expects), Previous (the last reading) and Actual (the released figure). Once the figure is released, the Actual appears with whether it beat or missed the forecast. A dash (–) means no forecast is available; it never means zero. Below the figures, a short section explains why the event matters. For an earnings event, the sheet shows the company, the expected EPS (earnings per share) against the actual EPS where available, and the report session, such as before market open or after market close, with a View Asset button that opens the stock page. All times are shown in WIB.

  • Where to find it: Open Explore, tap Discover, then the Calendar tab. Tap any row in Upcoming Events, or tap See all to open the full Calendar page and tap a row there.
  • Forecast (economic events): The figure the market expects, where available. A dash (–) means no forecast is available, not zero.
  • Previous (economic events): The last released figure for the same indicator.
  • Actual (economic events): The newly released figure, shown with whether it beat or missed the forecast. Released figures reach Pluang within minutes of publication and appear the next time the calendar refreshes. If the scheduled time has passed but the figure isn't out yet, the event row shows the Due now label.
  • Why it matters (economic events): A short explanation of what the indicator measures and why markets watch it.
  • View Details (economic events): Opens related Pluang content about the event. The button appears only when such content exists.
  • Expected and actual EPS (earnings): The EPS estimate where available, and the reported EPS once the company has published its results.
  • Report session (earnings): When the company reports, such as before market open or after market close.
  • View Asset (earnings): Opens the stock's page in the Pluang app.
  • Times and language: All times are shown in WIB. Event names and descriptions are shown in English in both app languages.

Related questions:

Q: What does a dash (–) mean in the Forecast?
It means no forecast is available for that event. It never means the forecast is zero. The Actual figure still appears once it is released.

Q: When does the Actual figure appear?
After the figure is officially released. Released figures reach Pluang within minutes of publication and appear the next time the calendar refreshes: when you open the page, when you pull down to refresh on the Calendar page, or after a few minutes. If the scheduled time has passed but the figure isn't out yet, the event row shows Due now.

Q: If the Actual beats the forecast, will the price rise?
Not necessarily. Beat or miss only compares the released figure with the forecast. Markets can react in either direction, depending on what investors expected and on other news, so a beat is not a signal to buy and a miss is not a signal to sell.

Q: Why is there no View Details button on this event?
For economic events, View Details appears only when Pluang has related content for that event. If there is none, the button isn't shown. Earnings events have a View Asset button instead, which opens the stock page.
