How Does Pluang Choose the Events in Upcoming Events?

Upcoming Events shows up to 10 events from the next 14 days, picked for you based on how soon each event is, whether you hold the stock and how large that position is in your portfolio, whether the stock is on a watchlist you created, how much the event can move the market, the type of event and the size of the company. Events linked to stocks you hold or watch come first, and market-wide events fill the remaining places. Earnings are limited so they don't crowd out everything else, and a corporate action on a stock you hold that needs a decision from you, such as a rights issue, always gets a place. Market holidays, low-impact economic data and low-impact events for stocks you neither hold nor watch are left out, and each event appears only once.

  • Timing: Sooner events rank higher. Timing is measured to the date you can still act, for example the cum date for a dividend.
  • Your holdings: Events for stocks in your portfolio rank higher, and a bigger position in your portfolio counts for more. Assets held in Pockets count; your IDR balance, USD cash and USDT don't.
  • Your watchlists: Stocks on watchlists you create yourself count. The default watchlist the app creates for you doesn't.
  • Impact, event type and company size: Higher-impact events, and events from larger companies, rank higher. The event type is also taken into account.
  • Earnings limit: Only a limited number of earnings are included, so other event types still have room.
  • Corporate actions that need your decision: A corporate action on a stock you hold that needs your action, such as a rights issue, always gets a place.
  • Left out: Market holidays, weekly jobless claims and other low-impact economic data, low-impact events for stocks you neither hold nor watch, and cancelled events.
  • Ties: When two events rank equally, the sooner one comes first, then the one from the larger company.
  • Chips: All, US Stocks and ID Stocks each pick their own top 10, so one event can appear under more than one chip.

Related questions:

Q: Does the size of my position matter?
Yes. Whether you hold a stock matters, and so does how big that position is in your portfolio: a larger position makes its events rank higher. Assets held in Pockets count towards this. Your IDR balance, USD cash and USDT are not counted.

Q: Does my default watchlist count?
No. Only watchlists you create yourself count towards Upcoming Events. The default watchlist the app creates for you doesn't, so add a stock to a watchlist you made if you want its events to count as yours.

Q: Why don't I see market holidays here?
Market holidays never appear in Upcoming Events. You can find them on the full Calendar page: tap See all, then choose the Holiday event type, or look at the end of each day's list.

Q: What if I hold nothing?
If you have no holdings and no watchlist of your own, or you aren't logged in, Upcoming Events shows a market-wide top 10 ranked by timing, impact, event type and company size. Once you buy a stock or create a watchlist, your list becomes personal on the next refresh.
