FAQ article

Do I Need to Log In or Own Stocks to Use Event Calendar?

No. Anyone using the Pluang app can browse Event Calendar without logging in or owning any stocks. As a guest, you see the market-wide Upcoming Events list (open Explore, tap Discover, then the Calendar tab) and the full Calendar page through See all. You need to log in only for the My Assets filter and the Remind Me button; tapping either one opens the login popup, and if you log in in that same session, the filter is applied or the reminder is set. After you log in, Upcoming Events refreshes to your personal top 10. If you don't hold any stocks and have no watchlist you created yourself, you see the same market-wide list until you do. Viewing Event Calendar is open to every app user, while trading still follows your account's normal rules.

  • Guests (not logged in): Can browse the market-wide Upcoming Events list and the full Calendar page through See all, and open event details.
  • What needs login: The My Assets filter and the Remind Me button. Tapping either opens the login popup.
  • Logging in from the popup: If you log in in the same session, your action completes: the My Assets filter is applied, or the reminder is set. Upcoming Events then refreshes to your personal top 10.
  • No holdings and no watchlist of your own: You see the same market-wide top 10 as guests, ranked by how soon events are, their market impact, event type and company size.
  • When it becomes personal: Once you hold stocks on Pluang or add stocks to a watchlist you created yourself, events for those stocks are prioritised in Upcoming Events, and market-wide events fill the rest.
  • Which watchlists count: Watchlists you create yourself count. The default watchlist the app creates for you doesn't.
  • Account verification: Viewing Event Calendar is open to every app user. Trading any stock you see on it still follows your account's normal rules.
  • Cost: Event Calendar is free for all users.

Related questions:

Q: What happens after I log in?
Upcoming Events refreshes to your personal top 10, prioritising events for stocks you hold or have on a watchlist you created. If you logged in from the popup after tapping My Assets or Remind Me, that action completes too: the filter is applied or the reminder is set.

Q: Does adding a stock to my watchlist personalise Event Calendar?
Yes, if it's a watchlist you created yourself. Events for that stock are then prioritised in Upcoming Events, appear under the My Assets filter and show the WATCHLIST label, unless a higher-priority label such as HELD applies. The list updates the next time the calendar refreshes, for example when you reopen the page.

Q: Does the default watchlist count?
No. Only watchlists you create yourself count towards personalising Upcoming Events. The default watchlist the app creates for you doesn't, so add stocks to a watchlist of your own if you want their events prioritised.

Q: Can I set reminders without an account?
No. You need to be logged in to use Remind Me, because reminders are delivered to your account as a push notification and an in-app inbox notification. Tapping Remind Me as a guest opens the login popup; log in in that same session and the reminder is set.
