Why Can't I Switch Between Cross and Isolated Margin on Crypto Futures?

Margin mode is set per contract, and it can't be changed while that contract has an open position or pending orders. Close the position and cancel every pending order on that contract, including pending Limit Close orders, then switch the mode. Other contracts are unaffected, and switching is free.

If you have closed every position and cancelled every pending order on the contract and still can't switch the margin mode, contact Pluang Care via live chat in the app or email tanya@pluang.com with the contract name.

Related questions:

Q: Does switching margin mode cost anything?
No. Switching between Cross and Isolated margin is free in either direction. The only requirement is that the contract has no open position and no pending orders.

Q: Does switching on one contract affect my other positions?
No. Margin mode is set per contract, so changing it on one contract leaves your positions and orders on every other contract as they are.

Q: What is the difference between Cross and Isolated margin?
On Cross margin, your whole shared balance backs all your Cross positions. On Isolated margin, a loss is capped to the margin allocated to that one position.

Q: Do I pay a fee to close my position so I can switch?
Closing a position is a trade, so the usual trading fee applies. Check the fee breakdown shown before you confirm the order.
