How Much Can I Move Out of My USD Margin (Commodities) Wallet?
You can move up to the amount the app shows as "Available to Transfer" in your USD Margin (Commodities) wallet, either to USD Cash or to your Rupiah balance. Margin used by your open positions isn't included, unrealized profit can't be moved until you close the position, and an unrealized loss lowers the amount. Moving funds out also lowers your margin level, so keep enough in the wallet for your open positions.
- Where the funds can go: back to USD Cash, or to your Rupiah balance.
- How much you can move: up to the amount the app shows as "Available to Transfer" in your USD Margin (Commodities) wallet. When you have open positions, it can be lower than your wallet balance.
- Margin in use: the margin your open positions use isn't available to move. Once you close a position, that margin is no longer in use, and the position's realized profit or loss is credited to your wallet balance.
- Unrealized profit and loss: unrealized profit can't be moved until you close the position. An unrealized loss lowers the amount you can move.
- Effect on your margin level: your margin level is your equity divided by the margin your open positions use, and equity is your balance plus your unrealized profit and loss. Moving funds out lowers your equity, so your margin level falls. If prices then move against you, it can reach the 80% margin call, the 70% second warning and 50% liquidation sooner.
- Negative balance: if your wallet balance is negative, for example after a large loss in a fast-moving market, transfers out aren't possible until the balance is back above zero. If this happens, contact Pluang Care.
- Converting to Rupiah: when you move funds to your Rupiah balance, the US dollars are converted to Rupiah. The review screen shows the exchange rate and any fees before you confirm.
- Where to see transfers: transfers in and out of the wallet appear in Transaction History, under the Balance tab with the USD Margin (Commodities) filter.
Related questions:
Q: Why is Available to Transfer lower than my wallet balance?
Because part of your balance is set aside as margin for your open positions, and that margin can't be moved. An unrealized loss on your open positions lowers the amount further, and unrealized profit isn't included until you close the position.
Q: Can I move my unrealized profit out of the wallet?
Not until you close the position. Once it's closed, the realized profit is credited to your USD Margin (Commodities) wallet, and you can move it out up to the amount shown as Available to Transfer.
Q: Will moving funds out affect my open positions?
It can. Moving funds out lowers your margin level, because your open positions keep using the same margin while your equity falls. If prices then move against you, your margin level can reach the 80% margin call, the 70% second warning or 50% liquidation sooner. Keep a buffer in the wallet rather than moving out everything you can.
Q: Can I move funds out if my balance is negative?
Not while it's negative. Transfers out aren't possible until your wallet balance is back above zero. A balance can turn negative when, in a fast-moving market, a loss is larger than your wallet balance. If your balance turns negative, contact Pluang Care.
Q: What happens when I move funds to my Rupiah balance?
The US dollars you move are converted to Rupiah and added to your Rupiah balance. The review screen shows the exchange rate and any fees before you confirm, so check them before you continue.
