Do Commodities Positions Have an Expiry Date?
No. Commodities positions on Pluang have no expiry date, because every contract is a rolling contract that rolls over automatically every day. You don't need to renew, roll or reopen a position yourself to keep it running: it stays open until you close it, for example with Close Position or with an order in the opposite direction, or until Pluang closes it through liquidation if your margin level falls to 50%. This applies to all three instruments: gold (XAUUSD), silver (XAGUSD) and Brent crude (UKOUSD). The daily rollover happens at 05.00 WIB, or 04.00 WIB during US Daylight Saving Time. Holding a position past the rollover does have a cost: a swap, shown in pips per lot, is applied at each rollover, and it can be a debit or a credit. Because swap adds up the longer you hold, Commodities suits short- to medium-term trading rather than long-term holding.
- What "rolling" means: The contract is extended automatically at each daily rollover, with no action from you. Trades are recorded at JFX and cleared at KBI (Kliring Berjangka Indonesia).
- How a position ends: You can close it with the Close Position button. Take Profit and Stop Loss are coming. For now, you can place a Limit or Stop order in the opposite direction to exit at a price you choose; it offsets your position. Orders fill in full or not at all, so a Limit or Stop exit may not fill: it then shows as Failed, and you can place it again. Orders can be valid for Day (Good till market close) or GTC (Good till cancelled). If your margin level falls to 50%, Pluang closes your worst-performing position in full, then checks your margin level again. If it's still at 50% or below, it closes the next one.
- Rollover and swap: Swap is applied to positions still open at 05.00 WIB (04.00 WIB during US Daylight Saving Time), and swap charges carry 11% VAT. For gold and silver, the Thursday rollover charges three days at once to cover the weekend. For Brent crude, check the Swap Fee entries in Transaction History to see which rollover carried the weekend. Around market holidays, the extra days can fall on a different rollover. A position opened and closed between two rollovers has no swap.
- For long-term gold holding: Pluang Emas is spot digital gold that you own, with no leverage and no swap.

Q: Do I need to do anything when my position rolls over?
No. The rollover is automatic and happens every day at 05.00 WIB (04.00 WIB during US Daylight Saving Time), so there's nothing to confirm, renew or reopen. Your position simply continues. The only change you'll notice is the swap, a debit or credit for every position still open at the rollover. It shows up in the app shortly after the rollover, as a Swap Fee entry in Transaction History.
Q: Is there a limit on how long I can keep a position open?
There's no expiry date, so a position has no fixed end. Your margin level still matters, though: a margin call comes at 80%, a second warning at 70%, and liquidation at 50%. Swap is also applied at every rollover, so the cost of holding keeps adding up the longer the position stays open.
Q: Will I ever receive physical gold, silver or oil?
No. Commodities is a leveraged derivative on the price of gold, silver and Brent crude, so you never own the physical commodity and nothing is delivered to you, even if you hold a position for a long time. Realized profit or loss is booked in US dollars to your USD Margin (Commodities) wallet. If you want to own gold for the long term, Pluang Emas is the product built for that.
Q: Why does holding a position longer cost more?
Because swap is applied at every daily rollover while a position stays open, and for gold and silver the Thursday rollover charges three days at once. Swap can be a debit or a credit, and charges carry 11% VAT, but over weeks or months it adds up and affects your net profit or loss. For example (illustrative, gold), a rate of 80 pips × US$0.01 pip value × 10 lots is US$8.00 per day, or US$8.88 with VAT. That's one reason Commodities is high-risk leveraged trading for the short to medium term, not a savings or long-term product.
