Which Commodities Can I Trade on Pluang?

You can trade three commodities on Pluang: gold (XAUUSD), silver (XAGUSD) and Brent crude oil (UKOUSD). All three are priced in US dollars and traded as leveraged derivative contracts, so you trade the price movement without owning the physical commodity. Each instrument has its own lot size and leverage: 1 lot of XAUUSD is 1 troy ounce of gold at up to 100x leverage, 1 lot of XAGUSD is 10 troy ounces of silver at up to 20x, and 1 lot of UKOUSD is 10 barrels of Brent crude at up to 50x. On any of them you can open a Long position, which profits if the price rises, or a Short position, which profits if the price falls. To find them, go to Explore → Commodities → Leverage in the Pluang app and choose an instrument. Commodities is rolling out gradually and is available in the app only.

  • Leverage: Pluang sets the leverage for each instrument (you don't choose it) and may adjust it; the order page shows the current figure.
  • Order size: The minimum is 1 lot. There's also a maximum order size, and the app tells you if an order is too large.
  • Order types: You can place Market, Limit and Stop orders, valid for Day (Good till market close) or GTC (Good till cancelled).
  • Trading hours: Monday 06.00 WIB to Saturday 05.00 WIB, or Monday 05.00 WIB to Saturday 04.00 WIB during US Daylight Saving Time. Gold and silver pause daily from 05.00 to 06.00 WIB, and Brent crude pauses from 05.00 to 08.00 WIB, Tuesday to Friday (each one hour earlier during US Daylight Saving Time). The market is closed from Saturday morning to Monday morning WIB, and you can't place orders while it is closed.
  • One wallet for all three: Every Commodities position uses the USD Margin (Commodities) wallet, and your margin level is calculated across all your open Commodities positions together.

Related questions:

Q: What do XAUUSD, XAGUSD and UKOUSD stand for?
Each code pairs a commodity with the US dollar. XAUUSD is the price of 1 troy ounce of gold in US dollars, XAGUSD is the price of 1 troy ounce of silver, and UKOUSD is the price of 1 barrel of Brent crude oil. So an XAUUSD price of US$4,300, an illustrative figure rather than a live quote, means 1 troy ounce of gold costs US$4,300. The lot size then sets how many ounces or barrels your position covers.

Q: Can I trade other commodities, such as copper or natural gas?
Not at the moment. Commodities on Pluang offers three instruments: gold (XAUUSD), silver (XAGUSD) and Brent crude oil (UKOUSD). All three follow the same rules: they are leveraged derivative contracts priced in US dollars, they have no expiry date, and they use the USD Margin (Commodities) wallet. If you're looking for gold that you own rather than trade with leverage, Pluang Emas is a separate product built for long-term holding.

Q: Can I change the leverage on an instrument?
No, you don't choose the leverage. Pluang sets it for each instrument, currently up to 100x for XAUUSD, 20x for XAGUSD and 50x for UKOUSD, and may adjust it; the order page shows the current figure. What you control is how many lots you open and how much extra balance you keep in your USD Margin (Commodities) wallet. That buffer matters: a margin call comes at an 80% margin level, a second warning at 70%, and liquidation at 50%.

Q: Will I receive physical gold, silver or oil?
No. Commodities positions are contracts on the price, not purchases of the commodity, so nothing is ever delivered to you. The contracts have no expiry date and roll over automatically every day. Your result is the price difference between opening and closing your position, less the JFX & KBI fee and VAT, with any swap charged or credited on top. If you want gold you actually own, Pluang Emas is the product for that.
