Aura AI Summary

Consolidated Edison (ED) trades at $107.13, showing modest daily gains of 0.22%. The stock presents a mixed technical picture with a bearish overall signal but oversold short-term RSI readings. Fundamentally, the company reported Q1 2026 earnings of $2.17 per share, missing estimates of $2.28, though revenue grew year-over-year. Recent corporate actions include a $2 billion ATM equity offering announced May 8, 2026, and consistent dividend payments, with the latest quarterly dividend declared at $0.8875 per share payable June 15, 2026.
The outlook remains cautious with analyst consensus leaning heavily toward Hold (62.96%), though the consensus price target of $109.71 suggests modest upside potential. Key risks include rising operational expenses impacting margins, significant capital expenditure requirements, and the dilutive effect of the new equity offering. The stock's defensive utility characteristics and dividend yield provide stability amid market volatility, but earnings execution and cost management will be critical for future performance.

About Consolidated Edison, Inc.

Con Ed is a holding company for Consolidated Edison of New York, or CECONY, and Orange & Rockland, or O&R. These utilities provide steam, natural gas, and electricity to customers in southeastern New York—including New York City—and small parts of New Jersey. The two utilities will generate nearly all of Con Ed's earnings once it closes the sale of its clean energy business to RWE. Con Ed's clean energy business owns the second-largest portfolio of utility-scale solar projects in the U.S. Following the sale, Con Ed's only non-utility earnings will come from investments in gas and electric transmission.
