How it works

These ETFs trade during US market hours, from US$1, after Global & Yield Asset Verification. Each trade carries the normal US Stocks transaction fee plus regulatory fees, shown on the order form before you confirm. Your return depends on the foreign market, on that country's currency against the US dollar, and on the USD/IDR rate when you look at your holding in rupiah.

Related questions:

Q: Can I open an account on a foreign stock exchange through Pluang?
No. Pluang gives access to US-listed stocks and ETFs only. Country ETFs listed in the US are how you follow other markets on Pluang: you buy the ETF in US dollars, and it holds the foreign shares.

Q: What is the difference between VT, VWO and a single-country ETF?
VT spreads across companies worldwide, including the US, in one fund. VWO and IEMG cover many developing markets together. A single-country ETF such as EWJ or INDA follows one market only, so it is more concentrated and can move more.

Q: Do country ETFs pay dividends on Pluang?
Many do. Distributions are credited like US stock dividends after US withholding tax, and companies outside the US can also face tax in their home country, so what you receive can be lower than the amount announced.

Q: Can I invest in bonds outside the US?
Yes, through bond ETFs such as IGOV, BNDX, EMB and EMLC, which hold government and other bonds from countries outside the US. Their prices move with interest rates and currencies, so they can fall as well as rise.
