What Are US ETFs, and How Do I Invest in Them on Pluang?
A US ETF is a fund listed on a US exchange that holds a basket of stocks, bonds or commodities, and on Pluang you can buy 50+ US ETFs in the app from US$1 per trade. US Stocks and ETFs on Pluang are facilitated by PT PG Berjangka, a Financial Derivatives Trading Intermediary for derivative products with securities as the underlying asset, licensed and supervised by OJK. Your position follows the ETF's price, so price movements and any dividends the fund pays pass through to you, but shareholder voting rights do not.
How to start investing in US ETFs on Pluang
| Step | What to do |
|---|---|
| 1. Verify your account | Complete Global & Yield Asset Verification in the app (Basic Verification comes first). You must be at least 18, and processing takes up to 1–2 business days |
| 2. Add US dollars | US ETFs trade in USD. Convert IDR to USD in the app (0.25% conversion fee plus VAT) |
| 3. Find the ETF | Open Explore, then the US Stocks tab, or search a ticker such as SPY, VOO or QQQ |
| 4. Place your order | Choose Market, Limit, Stop or Stop-Limit. The minimum buy is US$1 for a Market Order and US$1.50 for the others, and fractional units are allowed on DAY orders |
US ETFs carry the same Pluang fees as US stocks: a transaction fee of 0.2% for Pluang Plus members or 0.3% for Regular members, plus VAT, the JFX & KBI fee and small US regulatory fees on sales. Each ETF also has its own expense ratio, which the fund deducts inside its price rather than charging you separately.
ETF prices go up and down with the assets they hold, and because they are priced in US dollars, the rupiah value of your holding also moves with the IDR–USD exchange rate. Past performance does not guarantee future results. The list of ETFs can change, and the app always shows what is currently available.
