Is There a Deduction on a Mutual Fund Sale? Why Did I Receive Less?
The most common deduction on a mutual fund sale is an interbank transfer fee charged by your bank, not by Pluang: if the bank receiving your proceeds is different from the bank that holds the mutual fund (bank penampung), your bank deducts an estimated Rp2,500 to Rp30,000 per transaction. The other common reason you received less than your sale amount is the NAB: the amount shown when you sold was only an estimate based on the previous exchange day's NAB, while your sale is calculated at the final NAB listed after verification.
| Symptom / Condition | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| The amount you received is a few thousand to a few tens of thousands of rupiah below your sale amount | Your receiving bank is different from the bank that holds the mutual fund (bank penampung), so the bank deducts an interbank transfer fee, estimated at Rp2,500 to Rp30,000 per transaction | This fee is charged by the bank, not by Pluang. If the difference falls within this range, it is the transfer fee and no action is needed |
| The final amount is different from the estimate you saw when you sold | The amount shown when you created the sale was based on the previous exchange day's NAB. Your sale is calculated at the final NAB: that day's NAB if you sold before 13:00 WIB on an exchange day, or the next exchange day's NAB if you sold later | Check the final NAB in your transaction details once your sale has been verified. The NAB changes every exchange day, so the final amount can be higher or lower than the estimate |
| You received less than you originally invested | The fund's NAB when you sold was lower than your average purchase price. Mutual fund values rise and fall, and returns are not guaranteed | Before you sell, check Profit or Loss Estimation on the fund's page. It is the difference between today's midday price and your average purchase price, multiplied by the units you own |
| You think Pluang deducted a fee from your sale | As of September 2026, Pluang's admin fee applies to mutual fund purchases paid with GoPay (Rp4,500) or Virtual Account (Rp5,500), plus 11% VAT on the admin fee. Beyond that, mutual fund investments in the Pluang app are not subject to additional fees, and stamp duty is not charged to you | Compare the difference with the interbank transfer fee range and with your final NAB first. If neither explains it, contact Pluang Care with your transaction details |
| You want to know whether the fund itself has selling costs | Each mutual fund has its own costs, which are borne by the fund and already included in its NAB. Costs set by the fund itself are listed in its Prospectus and Fund Fact Sheet, and they differ from fund to fund | Open the fund's asset page in the Pluang app, scroll to the bottom and tap "Prospectus" to read the fund's costs |
If the issue persists:
Contact Pluang Care via live chat in the app, email tanya@pluang.com, or call (021) 8063 0065 (Monday–Friday, 09:00–18:00 WIB). Include the fund name, the date and time of your sale, the sale amount shown in the app, the amount you received and the receiving bank, so the team can check the difference.
Related questions:
Q: Does Pluang deduct anything when I sell a mutual fund?
Not from Pluang. Pluang's admin fee applies to mutual fund purchases paid with GoPay or Virtual Account, and beyond that, mutual fund investments in the Pluang app are not subject to additional fees. When you sell, your bank may deduct an interbank transfer fee if your receiving bank is different from the bank that holds the mutual fund.
Q: Do I pay stamp duty when I sell a mutual fund?
No. As of September 2026, Pluang does not charge stamp duty (bea meterai) for mutual fund investments. The stamp duty notified by KSEI is borne by Pluang for the time being, until further notice.
Q: Where can I see the final NAB used for my sale?
In your transaction details, once your sale has been verified. The NAB is updated once a day, between 21:00 and 24:00 WIB, so the NAB you see when you sell is only the previous exchange day's NAB, used as an estimate.
Q: My proceeds haven't arrived at all. What should I check?
Proceeds reach the mutual fund bank you chose on the "Tinjau Order" page, or your main mutual fund bank account, within a maximum of 7 business days of the investment manager receiving your sell order. Weekends, national holidays and Cuti Bersama aren't counted, so recount before contacting Pluang Care.
