Do I Have to Invest in Mutual Funds Every Month on Pluang?

No, investing in mutual funds on Pluang does not require you to add money every month. Each purchase is a separate order that you place yourself: you choose the fund and the amount, pick a payment method (GoPay or Virtual Account below Rp100,000,000, Bank Transfer from Rp100,000,000) and pay for that order, with a Virtual Account paid within 24 hours of choosing the payment method. You can buy again whenever you choose, as long as each purchase meets the fund's own minimum purchase amount, and you can hold the units you already have without adding more. There is also no minimum holding to receive dividends from a dividend-paying fund. Pocket Auto Invest cannot be used for mutual funds, because Pockets cover crypto and US stocks only. If you want to invest regularly, you can place a new purchase at intervals that suit you; as of September 2026, each GoPay or Virtual Account purchase carries Pluang's admin fee of Rp4,500 or Rp5,500 per transaction, plus 11% VAT on that fee.

How buying mutual funds works on Pluang

  • No monthly obligation: Each purchase is a one-off order. Nothing requires you to buy again on a schedule.
  • Placing a purchase: Open the mutual fund page, choose the fund, tap "Beli", pick a payment method and pay. Step-by-step guide: "Langkah-langkah pembelian Reksa Dana di Pluang".
  • Minimum: Each fund's own minimum purchase amount applies to every purchase, not only the first.
  • Cost per purchase (as of September 2026): Rp4,500 per transaction for GoPay and Rp5,500 per transaction for Virtual Account, plus 11% VAT on the admin fee. Many small purchases each carry this fee.
  • Timing: A purchase completed before 13:00 WIB on an exchange day gets that day's NAB; a later one gets the next exchange day's NAB. Units are added on the next exchange day, or within 2 exchange days for purchases after the cut-off.
  • Automatic purchases: Pocket Auto Invest does not cover mutual funds, because Pockets are available for crypto and US stocks only.
  • Selling: You can sell from Rp100,000 per sale, and the proceeds reach your registered mutual fund bank account within a maximum of 7 business days.

Investing a similar amount regularly (general concept)

Investing a similar amount at regular intervals, often called dollar-cost averaging, means you buy at different NABs over time: more units when the NAB is lower and fewer when it is higher. It spreads out the timing of your purchases, but it does not guarantee a profit, and mutual fund values can go down as well as up.

Related questions:

Q: Do I have to top up a money market fund every month?
No. Like every other type of mutual fund on Pluang, a money market fund has no rule that you must add money every month. Money market is one of the four mutual fund types on Pluang, and each purchase is a one-off order that has to meet that fund's own minimum purchase amount. You can keep holding the units you already own without adding more.

Q: Can I save in mutual funds automatically on Pluang?
Pocket Auto Invest, which schedules purchases hourly, daily, weekly or monthly, does not cover mutual funds, because Pockets are available for crypto and US stocks only. For mutual funds, the purchase flow in the guide "Langkah-langkah pembelian Reksa Dana di Pluang" is a one-off order: you choose the fund and the amount, pick a payment method and pay for each order yourself.

Q: Is there a fee every time I buy a mutual fund?
Yes, for GoPay and Virtual Account payments. As of September 2026, Pluang charges an admin fee of Rp4,500 per transaction for GoPay and Rp5,500 per transaction for Virtual Account, plus 11% VAT on that fee, a fee in effect since 15 May 2025. Each fund's own costs are already included in its NAB, Pluang does not charge you stamp duty, and switching between funds is free.

Q: Do I need to keep buying to receive dividends?
No. To receive a dividend, you only need to hold units of a dividend-paying fund up to its cum date, and there is no minimum number of units. As of September 2026, 10 mutual funds on Pluang pay dividends, paid as additional units of the same fund. Dividends are decided by each fund's investment manager and are not guaranteed.

Q: Does the time of day I buy matter?
Yes, because of the 13:00 WIB cut-off. A purchase completed before 13:00 WIB on an exchange day gets that day's NAB, which is updated between 21:00 and 24:00 WIB. A purchase completed after 13:00 WIB, or on a weekend or national holiday, gets the next exchange day's NAB. What counts is the time your payment is confirmed.
