Can users under 18 use Pluang?

No. Since 27 April 2026, users under 18 cannot complete Basic KYC, so new users under 18 cannot open a Pluang account. Accounts opened before that date by users who are still under 18 stay open — the owner can still log in and see their assets — but from 15 June 2026 they may be restricted from transacting (buying, selling, top-ups, cashouts and sending crypto) until the owner reaches the required age.

The under-18 restriction comes in two phases with different effective dates depending on whether the user is new or existing.

Phase 1 — New users (effective 27 April 2026):

Users under 18 cannot complete Basic Verification (Basic KYC) on Pluang. The system reads the date of birth on the submitted ID and rejects the registration if the user is under 18. Without Basic KYC, the user cannot create a usable Pluang account or access any asset.

Phase 2 — Existing accounts of users under 18 (effective 15 June 2026):

Accounts opened before 27 April 2026 (under the prior 17+/e-KTP rule) by users who are still under 18 stay open, and so do the assets in them. From 15 June 2026, these accounts may be restricted from transacting. Whether a particular account is restricted depends on the owner's age and account status.

What may be restricted from 15 June 2026What's still available
Buy or sell any asset (Crypto, Crypto Futures, Gold, Mutual Funds, Indonesian Stocks, US Stocks, US Stock Options)Logging into the account
Top up (any method, any wallet)Viewing dashboard and portfolio
Cashout / withdrawalMonitoring existing assets

Once the account owner turns 18, transaction access can be restored. If you're 18 and still can't transact, contact Pluang Care.

What about my balance and assets? They stay in your account and remain yours, and you can still see them in the app. If you need help with your balance before you turn 18, contact Pluang Care via live chat in the app, email tanya@pluang.com, or call (021) 8063 0065 (Monday–Friday, 09:00–18:00 WIB). The team will explain the options available for your account.

Regulatory basis (both phases):

  • OJK Regulation No. 22/POJK.04/2021 — Good Corporate Governance for Securities Companies, requiring legal capacity for investment contracts
  • Law No. 10 of 1998 on Banking — requires legal capacity for banking and financial agreements
  • OJK General Provisions for Crypto Asset Trading — requires legal capacity for crypto transactions, referencing the legally recognised age of adulthood

Prior policy (now superseded): Until 26 April 2026, the rule was that users needed a valid e-KTP — typically age 17 or above — to register. Phase 1 replaced that rule on 27 April 2026.

Your account stays open, and you can still log in, view your dashboard, and monitor your assets. From 15 June 2026, transactions on accounts of users under 18 may be restricted. If a transaction is blocked, or you're not sure what applies to your account, contact Pluang Care.

Your balance and assets stay in your account, and you can still see them. Contact Pluang Care for help with your balance before you turn 18; the team will explain the options available for your account.

Q: Can a parent register on behalf of a minor on Pluang?
No. Each Pluang account must be registered and verified in the individual investor's own name with their own valid e-KTP. Proxy or guardian registration is not permitted.
