Do I Need a KTP to Sell Gold on Pluang?

No, you do not need to show or upload your KTP each time you sell gold on Pluang. Your identity is checked when you verify your Pluang account with your e-KTP, or with your passport if you are a foreign national, and after that you can sell from the app whenever you choose. To sell, open the Gold page, tap "Sell", enter an amount from Rp5,000 in Rupiah or grams, and confirm; the proceeds go to your Rupiah balance. If the app asks you to complete a verification step before you can sell, finish that step first and then try again. Your identity matters again in two situations: withdrawing the money to a bank account, which must be in the same name as your Pluang account and ID card, and withdrawing physical gold, which goes through a verification video call before it is processed.

Related questions:

Q: Do foreign nationals need a KTP to sell gold on Pluang?
No. Foreign nationals (WNA) register with a valid passport from their country instead of a KTP, and US citizens also submit a FATCA form. Once the account has completed the verification the app asks for, a WNA can buy and sell gold in the same way as an Indonesian citizen. To withdraw the proceeds, the bank account must be in the account holder's own name, matching the name on the Pluang account and passport.

Q: Why does the app ask me to verify before I can sell gold?
It means a verification step on your account is still incomplete or under review. Finish the step the app shows you, then try selling again; if it is under review, wait for the result. Accounts of users under 18 cannot buy or sell any asset, including gold. To see other reasons a sale can be blocked, such as gold committed to a physical withdrawal, read the article "Why can't I sell my gold on Pluang?".

Q: What if my KTP details have changed?
Contact Pluang Care to update them: email tanya@pluang.com, use live chat in the app, or call (021) 8063 0065, Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 WIB. You need your updated KTP data, the reason for the change, a photo of your latest original KTP and a selfie holding it. The change is processed within 1×24 hours once all the data is complete, and you are notified by email.

Q: Can I sell gold if I have not registered a bank account?
Yes. Selling gold and withdrawing money are two separate steps. When you sell, the proceeds go to your Rupiah balance in the Pluang app, and you can keep them there or use them to buy another asset. You only need a registered bank account in your own name when you want to withdraw the Rupiah to your bank, and the withdrawal screen shows the details before you confirm.
