Can I Stake Only Part of My Crypto Holdings?

Yes. Partial staking is fully supported on Pluang — you are never required to stake your entire balance. When you submit a staking request for a supported coin, you type in the exact quantity you want to stake, as long as it is at least that coin's minimum (for example, 0.01 ETH). Everything above the minimum, up to your full available balance, is eligible, and whatever you choose not to stake stays in your available wallet where it can be traded or withdrawn freely. This lets you balance earning staking rewards on part of your holdings against keeping the rest liquid.

Good to know:

  • How partial staking works. Enter the quantity you want to stake on the coin's staking page; anything from the minimum up to your full available balance is allowed, and the unstaked portion stays liquid.
  • Example. You hold 2 ETH and stake 0.5 ETH: the 0.5 ETH enters staking (bonding, then Staking Active, earning rewards), while the remaining 1.5 ETH stays tradeable and withdrawable at any time.
  • Partial staking vs adding to a stake. Partial staking splits today's balance in a single request; adding to a stake is a separate, later request for the same coin. They are related but not the same.
  • Adding more runs on its own timeline. Each additional staking request is processed independently and goes through its own bonding period — it does not restart the bonding of a position already Staking Active.
  • Stake everything, or across coins. There is no maximum staking limit, and you can hold active staking positions for several supported coins (e.g. ETH and SOL) at the same time.
  • Mind the lock-up. Staked coins are illiquid during the network-set bonding and unbonding periods, so many users keep a portion liquid for flexibility.

Related questions:

Q: What is the difference between partial staking and adding to my stake?
Partial staking is choosing, in one request, to stake only part of your current balance. Adding to your stake is a later, separate request for the same coin. Each request is handled independently with its own bonding period.

Q: If I stake more of the same coin later, does it restart my original bonding period?
No. Each request is processed on its own. Your existing Staking Active balance keeps earning while the newly added quantity goes through its own bonding period.

Q: Is there a minimum I must keep liquid?
No. You may stake your entire available balance of a supported coin — there is no maximum staking limit. Keeping some liquid is a personal choice, not a requirement.

Q: Can I stake more than one coin at the same time?
Yes. You can hold separate active staking positions for multiple supported coins at once, each with its own quantity, minimum, and bonding/unbonding periods.

Q: Can I unstake only part of what I have staked?
Partial unstaking options can vary — check the staking page in the app. Any unstaking request runs through the network's unbonding period before coins return to your wallet.
