Can I Cancel a Staking Request After Submitting It?

Yes, but only within a short window. On Pluang you can cancel a staking request while its status still shows Staking Requested — the stage that lasts until the next day's 9AM WIB batch picks it up for processing. During that window you cancel directly from the staking screen and the coins stay fully available in your wallet. Once the batch runs and the status moves to Bonding In-Progress, the request is locked in and cancellation is no longer possible, because the coins have entered the network-mandated bonding period. If you miss the window, the exit is to wait until Staking Active and submit an unstaking request, which runs through the unbonding period before the coins return to your wallet.

Good to know:

  • The cancellation window is "Staking Requested." Until the 9AM WIB batch runs, the coins have not left your available balance, so cancelling clears the request with nothing forfeited.
  • After the batch, the window closes. Once status shows Bonding In-Progress, the request cannot be cancelled or reversed — the coins are committed to the network's validators.
  • Why bonding exists. Proof-of-stake networks lock delegated coins for a network-defined bonding period before staking becomes active; the lock-up is set by the blockchain, not by Pluang.
  • Cancelling early costs nothing. Rewards only accrue once the position is Staking Active, so a request cancelled while still pending loses no rewards.
  • If you missed the window, unstaking is the exit. After Staking Active, submit an unstaking request from the staking section of your crypto asset; coins move through the unbonding period, then return to your available wallet.
  • Plan around the lock-up. Bonding and unbonding are network-mandated waiting periods, so only stake an amount you are comfortable leaving untouched.

Related questions:

Q: What if I change my mind before the 9AM WIB batch processes my request?
If the status still reads Staking Requested, cancel from the staking screen before the batch runs. The coins never left your available balance, so nothing is forfeited. Once status flips to Bonding In-Progress, that option disappears.

Q: Can I cancel while it still shows "Staking Requested"?
Yes. Staking Requested is the cancellable state. Cancel from the staking screen before the next day's 9AM WIB batch. After it becomes Bonding In-Progress, cancellation is no longer possible.

Q: I accidentally staked — what is the earliest I can get my coins back?
If it is still Staking Requested, cancel now. If already processed, the earliest return is the bonding period plus the unbonding period for that coin. Check the Pluang app for per-coin durations.

Q: How long until I can unstake after submitting a staking request?
Only once the position reaches Staking Active (after bonding completes). You cannot unstake during Bonding In-Progress. The unbonding period then applies before coins return to your wallet.

Q: Does cancelling cost a fee or lose rewards?
Cancelling during Staking Requested forfeits no rewards, since rewards only begin at Staking Active. For any staking or unstaking charges, check the staking page in the app, as costs can vary by coin.
