Is My Crypto Safe When Staked on Pluang?

When you stake crypto on Pluang, the coins stay your property the whole time — staking never lends your coins to a third party or transfers ownership away from you. Staking is simply the process of committing Proof-of-Stake coins to help secure a blockchain: your assets are delegated on-chain to reputable validator nodes, and in return the network pays out staking rewards. Across every phase — bonding, active staking, and unbonding — you keep ownership of the underlying coins, held within the same institutional-grade custody infrastructure Pluang uses for all crypto (Fireblocks and the Indonesian Coin Custodian, ICC), with the majority in cold storage. Staking is not risk-free, though: the coin's price can move, staked coins are illiquid during unbonding, and some networks apply slashing penalties.

How Pluang protects staked assets:

  • What staking is: committing Proof-of-Stake coins to help secure a blockchain by delegating them to a validator — a network activity, not a deposit or a loan to Pluang.
  • Custody: staked coins are held via Fireblocks and ICC — the same infrastructure used for all crypto on Pluang, with the majority in cold storage.
  • Ownership stays with you: your coins are never lent out. Delegating validation rights is not transferring ownership.
  • On-chain delegation: Pluang delegates your coins to reputable validator nodes; the delegation is recorded on-chain and verifiable.
  • Slashing risk: some networks penalise validators that misbehave. Pluang selects validators carefully to minimise this.
  • Market and liquidity risk remain: rates are variable, prices can fall, and staked coins are illiquid during unbonding.

Related questions:

Q: Does Pluang lend out my staked coins?
No. Staking delegates validation rights to a validator node; it does not lend your coins to any borrower. Ownership stays with you, and the delegation is recorded on-chain.

Q: Is there a risk I could lose my staked coins?
Staking is not risk-free. Slashing is a theoretical penalty on some networks if a validator misbehaves; market risk and unbonding illiquidity also apply. These are inherent to Proof-of-Stake staking.

Q: Who are Fireblocks and ICC?
Fireblocks is an institutional digital-asset custody platform used by Pluang, with institutional cyber-theft coverage. ICC (Indonesian Coin Custodian) is Pluang's crypto custodian. Together they hold all crypto on Pluang, mostly in cold storage.

Q: Is staking a guaranteed fixed return?
No. The rate shown is an estimate that varies with network conditions and is reviewed periodically — not a promised yield. Your outcome also depends on the coin's market price.
