What Happens to My TP/SL Orders If I Partially Close a Crypto Futures Position?
When you close part of a Crypto Futures position, the remaining amount on your existing TP/SL orders is automatically reduced to match your remaining position size — this prevents the leftover order from accidentally opening a position in the opposite direction.
Example:
- Long 1 BTCUSDT at 80,000 USDT; TP 1: sell 0.5 BTCUSDT at 85,000; TP 2: sell 1 BTCUSDT at 90,000
- Price hits 85,000 — TP 1 executes, remaining position 0.5 BTCUSDT
- TP 2 auto-adjusts to sell 0.5 BTCUSDT (from 1 BTCUSDT)
- Price hits 90,000 — TP 2 executes on the remaining 0.5 BTCUSDT

No — the remaining amount adjusts automatically to match your reduced position size.
