THORChain node operators are voting on ADR028, a recovery plan to restart the network after a $10.7 million exploit caused by a vulnerability in the GG20 Threshold Signature Scheme. The plan avoids minting new RUNE tokens or diluting holders by first using protocol-owned liquidity to cover losses, then sharing any remaining shortfall with synthetic asset holders. The network will patch the vulnerability, require a successful node churn, and gradually rebuild liquidity from future income before resuming normal trading. This vote aims to restore confidence after the exploit while maintaining the protocol's neutral and permissionless nature.
