What Background Checks Does Pluang Run During KYC Verification?

During KYC, Pluang checks that your identity document is original and valid, that you are 18 or older, that your selfie matches your ID photo, and that your personal data and bank account name match your ID. These are know-your-customer checks that licensed financial companies in Indonesia must run before opening investment access. What Pluang checks depends on the verification step, and a further review, Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), applies only to some accounts.

Related questions:

Q: Why was my ID or selfie photo rejected?
Every photo must be clear and readable, taken directly rather than photographed from a printout or screenshot, uncropped and unedited, and well lit. Your selfie must be taken no more than 30 cm from the camera, show your whole face with nothing covering it, and match your ID photo. Failing any one of these leads to a rejection and a resubmission, reviewed within 1–2 business days.

Q: Why does Pluang check that my bank account name matches my account?
Indonesian Asset Verification requires a bank account in your own name, and the name on it must exactly match the name registered on your Pluang account. If the names don't match, the verification is rejected.

Q: What is Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)?
EDD is an extra review that Pluang's compliance team applies to some accounts, not to everyone. If your account needs it, you receive a notification and start by tapping "Verify Now". You complete a form with your current e-KTP, and the review takes 1–3 business days.

Q: Can someone else complete KYC for me?
No. Each account must be registered and verified with the investor's own identity document and selfie, so a parent, guardian or anyone else cannot verify an account on your behalf.
