What Happens to My Assets If Pluang Stops Operating?
Your funds and assets on Pluang are held in segregated accounts at each product's licensed entity and with its custodians, never mixed with Pluang's own operational accounts. Pluang cannot access user funds beyond processing user-initiated transactions, and each asset class has its own protection arrangements on top of that segregation. Where your assets sit is determined by the entity actually holding your funds or securities, such as a custodian, clearing house or bank, not by Pluang's own balance sheet. Each licensed entity remains accountable to its regulator (OJK or Bappebti) for the funds it holds, independently of Pluang's own corporate standing. The custodians, clearing houses and protection schemes involved differ by asset class, as detailed below. These arrangements concern custody only: they do not protect your investments from falls in market value.
Where each product's assets sit and who holds them
| Product | Where the asset or cash sits | Who holds it |
|---|---|---|
| Indonesian Stocks | Shares in your own name at the central securities depository; cash in your RDN, opened in your own name | KSEI (shares); Bank Jago or BCA (RDN) |
| US Stocks and ETFs | Shares in segregated accounts at a US broker; uninvested USD at a custodian bank; margin funds of your Pluang Commodity Account | Alpaca Securities LLC; BMO Harris; Bank Artha Graha Internasional |
| US Stock Options | Contracts at a US custodian | Atomic Vaults LLC |
| Crypto | Coins with a crypto custodian, 70% in cold wallets | Indonesian Coin Custodian (ICC) |
| Crypto Futures | Margin | Kliring Komoditi Indonesia (KKI) and ICC |
| Gold | Physical gold in a depository | PT Brinks Solutions Indonesia (Brink's), appointed by ICH and PT ICDX Logistik Berikat |
| Mutual Funds | Fund assets | A licensed custodian bank supervised by OJK |
| Commodities | Margin funds in a segregated account | Bank Artha Graha |
- Segregated accounts: Each licensed entity behind a Pluang product (for example PT Bumi Santosa Cemerlang for Crypto, PT PG Berjangka for US Stocks, Options and Commodities, and PT Pluang Emas Sejahtera for Gold) holds user funds in accounts kept separate from the company's own operating funds.
- Regulatory oversight: These accounts are approved by OJK or Bappebti, depending on the product, and reported to the regulator on a routine schedule. Pluang cannot withdraw from them except to process a user's own transaction.
- If Pluang ceases operations: Your assets are recorded with licensed custodians, clearing houses and banks rather than held by Pluang itself, and each licensed entity stays accountable to its regulator for the funds it holds. For Indonesian stocks, both your shares at KSEI and your RDN are in your own name.
- Why segregation matters: Segregation keeps customer money apart from a company's operating capital. The licensed entity, not Pluang's holding company, is the party of record with the custodian, clearing house or bank.
Protection schemes by asset class
- Indonesian Stocks: SIPF compensation of up to Rp100,000,000 per investor, supervised by OJK.
- RDN cash: LPS (Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan) cover of up to Rp2,000,000,000 per customer per bank.
- US Stocks: SIPC protection of up to US$500,000, including US$250,000 cash, plus Lloyd's insurance of up to US$30,000,000 above the SIPC limit. Uninvested USD cash has FDIC coverage of up to US$1,000,000 via BMO Harris.
- US Stock Options: SIPC coverage. The Lloyd's layer does not apply to Options.
- Crypto: US$30,000,000 institutional cyber-theft coverage via Fireblocks.
- Gold: all gold is fully insured and stored by Brink's. Transactions are recorded at ICDX and cleared by ICH.
These arrangements cover custody, not market risk. The value of your investments can go up or down, and past performance does not guarantee future results.

Related questions:
Q: Are my funds mixed with Pluang's own company funds?
No. User funds are held in segregated accounts, kept separate from Pluang's operational accounts. This separation is maintained at the level of the licensed entity itself, for example PT Bumi Santosa Cemerlang or PT PG Berjangka, not just as an internal Pluang policy. Commodities margin, for instance, is held in a segregated account at Bank Artha Graha.
Q: Can Pluang withdraw money from my account without my instruction?
No. Pluang cannot use segregated user accounts except to process transactions you initiate yourself. Every movement of funds out of a segregated account is tied to a specific action you take, such as a buy order, a sell order or a withdrawal request, rather than a standing ability for Pluang to move balances at will.
Q: What protects my Indonesian Stocks specifically if something goes wrong?
Your shares are held at KSEI, Indonesia's central securities depository, and recorded there in your own name, not merely as a line in Pluang's internal systems. On top of that, SIPF can compensate up to Rp100,000,000 per investor if a securities company fails, and SIPF is supervised by OJK. This custody structure applies to all Indonesian Stocks trading on Pluang, not as a special arrangement.
Q: What protects my RDN cash balance?
LPS (Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan) covers RDN balances up to Rp2,000,000,000 per customer per bank. The cover applies at whichever RDN bank you use, Bank Jago or BCA, because your RDN is a bank account opened in your own name. It is Indonesia's standard bank deposit insurance, not a Pluang-specific product feature.
