What Are the Requirements to Receive Mutual Fund Dividends?

To receive a mutual fund dividend, you must still hold units of a dividend-paying fund up to its cum date, or buy units on the cum date itself before the exchange closes. The cum date is the last date on which unit holders are entitled to that dividend. The day after it is the ex-date, and investors who buy units on the ex-date are not entitled to that distribution. There is no minimum number of units: as long as you still hold units on the cum date, you qualify. The fund must also be one that distributes dividends — as of September 2026, 10 of the mutual funds on Pluang do. To hold mutual funds on Pluang at all, you first need to complete Indonesian Asset Verification (Verifikasi Aset Indonesia). If a cum date falls on an exchange holiday, it moves to the next exchange day.

Checklist for receiving a dividend:

  • Hold a dividend-paying fund: As of September 2026, 10 funds on Pluang pay dividends. The full list is in "Which Mutual Funds on Pluang Pay Dividends?".
  • Hold units up to the cum date: Or buy units on the cum date before the exchange closes. If you no longer hold any units on the cum date, you are not entitled to that dividend.
  • No minimum holding: Any number of units qualifies.
  • Indonesian Asset Verification completed: Required to buy mutual funds on Pluang, for both WNI and WNA users. Complete it under Account → Identity Verification; it takes 1–2 business days.
  • Purchase cut-off time: Mutual fund purchases on Pluang placed before 13:00 WIB are processed on the same exchange day, and purchases placed after 13:00 WIB are processed on the next exchange day.
  • Holiday rule: If the cum date, ex-date or payment date falls on an exchange holiday, it moves to the next exchange day.

Related questions:

Q: What is the last day to buy a mutual fund and still get the dividend?
The cum date itself, before the exchange closes. The ex-date is the day after the cum date, and investors who buy units on the ex-date are not entitled to that dividend. To qualify, you must already hold units up to the cum date, or buy on the cum date itself before the exchange closes. If you buy on the ex-date or later, you would be entitled to the fund's next distribution instead, provided you still hold units on that distribution's cum date.

Q: Is there a minimum number of units I must hold to receive a dividend?
No. There is no minimum number of units you must own to receive a mutual fund dividend. If you still hold units of a dividend-paying fund on its cum date, you will receive the dividend, whether your holding is small or large. The dividend itself is paid as additional units of the same fund, added to your holding no later than one day after the payment date (H+1).

Q: What happens if the cum date falls on an exchange holiday?
It moves to the next exchange day. The same rule applies to the ex-date and the payment date: whenever one of these dates falls on an exchange holiday, it shifts one day later to the next exchange working day. This means the deadline for holding or buying units to qualify for the dividend also moves to that next exchange day.

Q: Besides holding units, what else do I need to get mutual fund dividends on Pluang?
Your fund must be one of the dividend-paying funds, and you need to have completed Indonesian Asset Verification (Verifikasi Aset Indonesia), because it is required to buy mutual funds on Pluang in the first place. It applies to both WNI and WNA users and takes 1–2 business days. Complete it in the Pluang app under Account → Identity Verification. Once you hold units of a dividend-paying fund, no further step is needed to receive its dividends.
