How to Check Your Open Commodities Positions on Pluang
Go to Explore → Commodities → Leverage and open the instrument you hold. Its "Your Position" card shows your Exposure, Entry Price, Unrealized P&L and Margin Level. Your open positions also show in your portfolio, where Commodities appears below Gold. Because Commodities uses high leverage, keep an eye on your positions and your margin level in the app. Pluang also sends alerts by email and push notification.

Q: Why do I see only one position after opening the same instrument several times?
Lots in the same instrument merge into one position at a weighted-average entry price. As an illustration, 1 lot of gold at US$4,000 plus 1 lot at US$5,000 shows as one position of 2 lots at US$4,500.
Q: Where can I see my swap charges and closed trades?
In Transaction History: closed trades are under the Asset tab (filter Commodities), and swap fees are under the Balance tab (filter USD Margin (Commodities)). Swap is charged or credited at the daily rollover on positions still open and shows up shortly after the rollover, as a Swap Fee entry.
Q: What should I keep an eye on while my positions are open?
Your margin level, calculated across your whole USD Margin (Commodities) wallet: the margin call comes at 80%; at 70% you get a second warning, and new orders that add risk are blocked until your margin level is back above 80%; and at 50%, Pluang closes your worst-performing position in full, then checks your margin level again and, if it's still at 50% or below, closes the next one.
Q: What does Unrealized P&L mean?
It's the profit or loss on a position that's still open, based on the current price. It becomes realized, and is credited to your USD Margin (Commodities) wallet, when the position closes.
Before you start, make sure:
- You have at least one open Commodities position
- You know that each instrument has one net position, and that an order in the opposite direction offsets it (reducing or closing it) rather than opening a separate one
- You understand cross margin: all your open Commodities positions share the USD Margin (Commodities) balance, so a loss on one position lowers the margin level for all of them
- You will keep an eye on your margin level in the app. Pluang also sends alerts by email and push notification
- You know that closed trades and swap charges are in Transaction History, not in your open positions
5 Steps
Open Explore → Commodities → Leverage
In the Pluang app, go to Explore, tap Commodities and open the Leverage tab, where XAUUSD (gold), XAGUSD (silver) and UKOUSD (Brent crude) are listed.
Select the instrument you hold
Tap the instrument to open it and check its current price.
Check the "Your Position" card
On the instrument page, the "Your Position" card shows your Exposure, Entry Price, Unrealized P&L and Margin Level.
Check your USD Margin (Commodities) wallet
Compare your margin level with the Maintenance Margin, which the app shows as 80%. That's where the margin call comes, so the gap shows how much room you have.
Review closed trades in Transaction History
Open Transaction History. Closed trades are under the Asset tab (filter Commodities), and swap fees and transfers are under the Balance tab (filter USD Margin (Commodities)). A swap shows up shortly after the rollover, as a Swap Fee entry.
