Do investors receive stock dividends (saham bonus) through Pluang?

Yes. Investors holding stocks on Pluang are entitled to receive stock dividends (saham bonus) issued by listed companies. Stock dividends are credited automatically to your portfolio by Pluang after distribution through KSEI (Indonesia Central Securities Depository) is complete — no action is required from you.

What is a stock dividend (saham bonus)?

A stock dividend — also called a bonus share — is a corporate action where the company distributes additional shares to existing shareholders for free, proportional to their holding. For example, a 1:10 ratio means you receive 1 new share for every 10 shares you hold.

Stock dividend vs cash dividend

  • Stock dividend → you receive more shares; your RDN cash balance is unchanged
  • Cash dividend → you receive cash; your share count is unchanged

What to keep in mind

  • The share price typically adjusts (falls) after a stock dividend because more shares are in circulation
  • Your total portfolio value does not fundamentally change at the moment of distribution, even though your share count increases
  • Pluang notifies eligible investors about upcoming stock dividend schedules via app notifications

Related questions:

Q: Will bonus shares appear in my Pluang portfolio automatically?
Yes. After KSEI processes the distribution and Pluang receives official data, bonus shares are automatically credited to your portfolio — typically within 1–2 business days of the payment date.

Q: Is there any tax on stock dividends received through Pluang?
It depends on what you do with them. Under Indonesian tax law (UU HPP), stock dividends are tax-exempt if you reinvest them. However, if you keep the shares idle in your account for 3 years or withdraw the proceeds, you are required to pay and report income tax (PPh) on the dividend value received.

Q: What is the difference between a stock dividend and a stock split?
A stock dividend distributes new shares as a form of dividend; a stock split divides existing shares into a greater number. Both increase share count but through different mechanisms.

Q: How do I know if a stock I hold will distribute bonus shares?
Issuers must announce planned stock dividends on the IDX website (idx.co.id). Pluang also sends notifications to eligible investors.
