Sei (SEI) perpetual futures start trading on US derivatives exchange with limited initial volume

A dollar-settled perpetual futures contract for Sei (SEI) began trading on a CFTC-registered US derivatives exchange on October 16, with two trades totaling 200 SEI tokens and about $13.17 in value. The contract, certified under CFTC Regulation 40.2(a), offers a regulated way to gain exposure to SEI tokens without expiration and settles in US dollars. While initial trading volume is low, the contract joins a broader lineup of perpetual futures for digital assets like Bitcoin and Ether, allowing 24/7 trading with risk-based margin requirements. This development provides investors a new regulated option for trading SEI tokens in the US market.

Sei (SEI) tokens show strong buying interest on Pluang, with 83% of order activity on the buy side as of Oct 17, 2026, 13:02 WIB. SEI trades at Rp1.148, up 1.85% in one day, contrasting with its 77% circulating supply of the total 10 billion tokens. The market cap stands at Rp8,88 trillion, supported by a 24-hour trading volume of Rp1.5 trillion, indicating active engagement despite the new US perpetual futures contract's low initial volume.
