$305K stolen from Ethereum Safe wallets via FlashLoopAdapter exploit bypassing access controls

An attacker exploited a vulnerability in the FlashLoopAdapter, a third-party contract used with Ethereum Safe wallets and Aave v3, to steal about $305,000. The flaw allowed a fake Safe contract to bypass access checks, enabling the attacker to repay Aave debt with a flash loan and withdraw collateral from two wallets. The core Aave v3 protocol was unaffected, as confirmed by Aave's founder. The attacker ended up keeping around 114 ETH after repaying the flash loan. This incident highlights risks in external modules interacting with DeFi protocols and the need for stronger access controls.

AAVE price rose 10.91% to Rp3.288.725 as of Oct 02, 2026 16:52 WIB on Pluang. Trading volume reached Rp12,36T with a market cap of Rp50,29T. Despite the third-party adapter hack, Aave's core protocol remains stable, reflected in steady investor interest and a typical hold time of 105 days.
