Aave lowers USDT usage ratio, raising borrow and supply rates slightly from Oct 20

Aave's Risk Stewards recommended lowering the optimal usage ratio for USDT on Aave V3 Core from 94% to 92%, effective October 20. This change increases the variable borrow rate from 4.10% to 4.19% annually and the supply rate from 3.16% to 3.22%. The adjustment aims to keep more liquidity available for withdrawals by reducing the borrowing capacity before rates climb steeply. Additionally, supply caps for USDe, LINK, and rETH are lowered due to declining deposits. Aave V3.8 upgrade, focused on security improvements, is under review but excludes flash loans. The AAVE token price is down 13.8% from its weekly high, with no direct link to these changes.

As of Oct 26, 2026 04:31 WIB, AAVE trades at Rp2.473.943 on Pluang, showing a slight 0.09% increase over the past day. Despite the recent adjustment in USDT borrow rates on Aave, the token's market cap stands at Rp38,38 trillion with a 24-hour trading volume of Rp2,73 trillion. Pluang users show balanced interest with 51% buying and 49% selling, holding their positions typically for 106 days.
