Who Can Use USD Margin on Pluang?

USD Margin is available to Pluang users who have completed Additional Verification of US Stocks in the app. It is not open to every account by default: standard Pluang onboarding lets you buy US Stocks with cash, but the USD Margin wallet and leveraged trading sit behind this separate verification step. Until it is approved, the wallet does not appear under Balance and no leverage ratios show on the order screen. Because leveraged trading carries the risk of margin calls and forced liquidation, this gate exists to confirm you have gone through the additional checks before that exposure becomes available. Once approved, USD Margin is yours to use or ignore — the verification enables the capability but does not require you to move any funds or open any leveraged position.

  • Who is eligible: Pluang users who have completed Additional Verification of US Stocks in the app.
  • Not enabled by default: Standard onboarding covers cash US Stock purchases only, not leveraged trading.
  • Before approval: The USD Margin wallet does not appear under Balance and no leverage ratios show on the order screen.
  • After approval: The wallet appears under Balance and leverage becomes selectable on eligible stocks.
  • Why the extra gate: Leveraged trading carries margin call and forced liquidation risk, so it sits behind additional checks.
  • No obligation: Verification enables the capability; it does not require you to fund the wallet or open a position.

Related questions:

Q: I already trade US Stocks — why can't I see USD Margin?
Because cash US Stock trading and leveraged trading are unlocked separately. Standard onboarding covers the first; Additional Verification of US Stocks covers the second. If the USD Margin wallet is not visible under Balance, the usual reason is that this extra verification has not been completed, or has been submitted but is still being processed. Once approved, the wallet appears and leverage becomes selectable.

Q: Why does leverage need an extra verification at all?
Because the risk profile is different. A cash purchase can at worst lose what you paid; a leveraged position borrows against your USD Margin wallet and can trigger a margin call between 70% and 99% Margin Level, or forced liquidation below 30%. The additional verification step exists so that this exposure is only available to accounts that have gone through the further checks.

Q: Does being verified mean I have to use leverage?
No. Completing Additional Verification of US Stocks makes leveraged trading available to you; it does not commit you to anything. You can keep buying US Stocks with cash exactly as before, leave the USD Margin wallet unfunded, and never open a leveraged position. The capability simply sits there until you decide you want it. Nothing about your existing US Stock holdings changes as a result of being verified.

Q: What can I actually do once I'm eligible?
The USD Margin wallet appears under Balance, and you can move funds into it from your USD or IDR balance. From there you can open leveraged positions on Pluang's 650+ leverage-eligible US stocks, at either 2x leverage or 4x Day Trade, subject to the per-transaction limits of 0.1 to 1,000 share units. The wallet's Balance, Equity, Free Margin and Margin Level then govern those positions.
