FAQ article

What types of stock orders are available on Pluang?

Pluang currently supports Limit Orders only for Indonesian stocks — you set the exact price you're willing to buy or sell at, and the order only executes if the market reaches that price. Market Orders, Stop Loss orders, and Take Profit orders are not currently supported for Indonesian stocks on Pluang, whether used individually or together. Every order also uses Day validity: any order left unexecuted automatically expires at the end of that trading day, with no Session-only or GTC (Good Till Cancelled) alternative available. This is narrower than what Pluang offers for some other asset classes — Crypto and US Stocks support a wider range of order types — but reflects where Indonesian Stocks currently stands on the platform.

Order types on Pluang for Indonesian stocks:

Order TypeAvailableNotes
Limit Order✓ YesThe only order type supported; buy/sell at your specified price or better; Day validity
Market Order✗ NoNot supported for Indonesian stocks on Pluang
Stop Loss✗ NoNot supported for Indonesian stocks on Pluang
Take Profit✗ NoNot supported for Indonesian stocks on Pluang

What this means in practice:

  • You always specify a price when placing an order — there is no "buy/sell at whatever the current price is" option
  • You cannot set an automatic sell-if-price-drops (Stop Loss) or sell-if-price-target-hit (Take Profit) order — you'd need to monitor the stock yourself and place a new Limit Order to exit a position
  • Because only Limit Orders exist, all of the OCO-style (simultaneous SL + TP) mechanics used on other Pluang asset classes simply don't apply here

Related questions:

Q: Can I set a Stop Loss or Take Profit for a stock position on Pluang?
No, not for Indonesian stocks. Neither Stop Loss nor Take Profit orders are supported, individually or together — if you want to exit a position at a specific price, you'll need to place a new Limit Order yourself and monitor the stock.

Q: Why is Market Order not available for Indonesian stocks?
Pluang has chosen to support only Limit Orders for Indonesian stocks at this stage, so orders always execute at a price you specify rather than "whatever the current price is." This gives you more control over execution price but means you can't guarantee immediate execution the way a Market Order would.

Q: How long does my order stay active if it isn't filled?
All Indonesian stock orders use Day validity — if your limit price isn't matched by market close, the order automatically expires and any held funds return to your RDN. You'd need to place a fresh order the next trading day to keep trying.

Q: Can I place orders outside of trading hours?
No. Orders can only be placed while the IDX is actively in session — Pluang does not queue orders submitted outside trading hours for the next session to process.
