FAQ article

Can Pluang Agentic Trading generate portfolio performance or tax reports for me?

No — Pluang Agentic Trading cannot produce a tax report, a capital-gains statement, or any view of how your portfolio has performed over time. A connected AI agent sees your portfolio only as it stands right now, with no history behind it, so it can describe what you hold today but cannot calculate realised profit or loss. Because it can read your current holdings, wallet balance and your last 20 transactions, you can ask it to describe what you hold right now — your asset allocation, the unrealised profit or loss on a position, or a recap of recent trades. It cannot look further back than those 20 rows, and it has no record of how your portfolio moved before this moment. None of that amounts to a performance history, a realised profit figure, or a downloadable file. Separately, Pluang's existing Portfolio & Calculations features — the Overview Page and Tax Reporting — already provide portfolio performance views and formal tax reporting inside the app itself, independent of whether you use Pluang Agentic Trading at all.

The agent's ability to talk about your performance is a byproduct of what it's permitted to read, not a dedicated reporting tool. It can query your portfolio holdings, wallet balance, and transaction history — so any summary, description, or analysis it gives you is built from that same underlying data, phrased conversationally rather than exported as a document.

None of this changes how Pluang's own in-app tools work. The Overview Page already shows portfolio performance, and Tax Reporting already provides a formal tax report (requested via Pluang Care, covering the previous financial year, with content that varies by asset class) — both exist and function the same way whether or not you've connected an AI agent at all.

Related questions:

Q: Does asking the agent for a summary replace Pluang's Tax Reporting feature?
No. Tax Reporting (under Portfolio & Calculations) is a separate, existing in-app feature — requested via Pluang Care, covering the previous financial year, with report content that varies by asset class. Agentic Trading's conversational summaries don't replace or change that process; both exist independently of each other.

Q: What kind of performance questions can I actually ask it today?
You can ask things like "how has my US Stocks portfolio performed recently" or "summarize my recent Crypto activity," and the agent will describe what it sees in your account data conversationally. It won't produce a polished report file from that conversation — it's a spoken-style summary, not an exported document.

Q: Can the agent at least tell me what a position cost me?
It can show the average buy price and current value of a position you still hold, which together give you the unrealised gain or loss on it. What it cannot do is total that across your whole account, tell you what you realised on anything you have already sold, or reconstruct what any of it looked like last month, because none of that history is available to it.
