What can an AI agent do on my behalf in my Pluang account?
Pluang Agentic Trading lets a connected AI agent — such as Claude — check your portfolio, look up prices, place trades, and run backtests on your behalf using natural-language instructions. Once connected via MCP (Model Context Protocol), the agent can view your holdings and wallet balance, pull current live prices for supported assets, review your transaction history and open positions, place buy and sell orders across supported asset classes, and run investment backtests against historical data. It cannot access every function in the Pluang app — its permissions are scoped to these specific capabilities. As of July 2026, Pluang Agentic Trading is in limited early access for selected users only, with a public launch targeted for around August 2026.
What the connected agent can do, grouped by function:
- Portfolio and account visibility — check total portfolio value, individual asset holdings, and IDR/USD wallet balances on request
- Market data — retrieve current live prices for supported assets
- Transaction history — review past transactions and current open positions across supported asset classes
- Trade execution — place buy and sell orders across supported asset classes through natural-language commands (e.g. "buy $50 of AAPL")
- Backtesting — run an investment strategy against historical price data to see how it would have performed, without placing a live trade
Trades placed by the agent go through the exact same licensed entities, regulatory framework, and fee schedule as trades placed manually in the app — Agentic Trading is a channel, not a separate regulated product, so nothing about the underlying trade changes based on how it was instructed.
Related questions:
Q: Can the AI agent withdraw or transfer money out of my Pluang account?
No. Withdrawing or transferring funds out of your account is not part of the AI agent's permitted scope under Pluang Agentic Trading — it can check balances and place trades across supported asset classes, but moving money out is excluded entirely, regardless of how the agent is instructed.
Q: Which assets can the AI agent trade for me?
Currently, the AI agent can place buy and sell orders for US Stocks, Indonesian Stocks, Gold, Crypto, and Crypto Futures. You can still trade the remaining asset classes (US Stock Options, Mutual Funds) manually in the Pluang app; the agent's coverage may expand as the feature matures.
Q: Does the AI agent decide what to trade on its own, or does it only act on my instructions?
The agent only acts on your natural-language instructions — it doesn't independently decide to buy or sell without you prompting it. After you give an instruction, Pluang Agentic Trading always asks you to confirm before the order actually executes — no trade goes through without that confirmation step.
Q: Can I use the AI agent just to run backtests without placing real trades?
Yes. Backtesting is one of the agent's core capabilities and doesn't require placing any live order — you can ask it to test a strategy against historical price data purely for research purposes. This is useful if you want to explore an approach before deciding whether to trade it live through the agent or manually.
Q: Does using the AI agent cost extra on top of normal trading fees?
No extra fee applies specifically for using the agent channel — the same underlying trading fees that apply to manual trades apply when the agent places a trade for you.
