PT. Indofarma, Tbk began as medicine factory well known as "Pabrik Obat Manggarai". Then take over by Japan's Government from Nederland's Government on 1942. On 1950 the Indonesian Government acquisited the factory by Department of Health and functioned as center of pharmacy production for its department. On 1979 the name changed to be Department of Health Center of Pharmacy Production as non Profit institution as main assignment to produced medicine for public service. Then the Company changed the name as PT. Indonesia Farma Tbk, known as PT Indofarma (Persero) Tbk.
