Zoox expands commercial robotaxi service to Las Vegas airport, gaining edge over Uber and Lyft.

Zoox, an Amazon-owned autonomous vehicle company, has extended its commercial robotaxi service in Las Vegas to include rides to and from Harry Reid International Airport. This expansion follows a recent federal exemption allowing Zoox to operate and charge for rides with up to 2,500 vehicles over two years. The airport service gives Zoox a competitive advantage over Uber and Lyft, whose pickup points are less convenient for passengers. With new permits granted to Tesla, Uber, and Waymo for robotaxi operations in the area, Las Vegas is becoming a hotspot for autonomous ride-hailing services.
