Zilliqa shifts from standalone blockchain to Ethereum Layer 2 for regulated institutions with enhanced compliance.

Zilliqa is ending its nine-year run as an independent Layer 1 blockchain and transitioning to become an Ethereum-secured Layer 2 network focused on regulated institutions. This move follows limited adoption of its standalone network and a security breach in October 2026 that caused losses. The new Zilliqa Institutional Layer will use Ethereum's security for settlements and integrate verifiable Legal Entity Identifiers (vLEIs) for institutional compliance. Liechtenstein’s LTIN will operate the network sequencer and issue vLEIs. Current ZIL token holders need not act immediately as technical migration details will be provided later.

Zilliqa (ZIL) trades at Rp30 on Pluang as of Nov 06, 2026 02:02 WIB, down 9.83% in one day. Its market cap stands at Rp611,48M with a 24-hour volume of Rp87,25M. Most Pluang users (82%) are buying ZIL, holding it typically for 134 days. This trading activity occurs amid Zilliqa's shift to an Ethereum Layer 2 network for institutional use.
