XPENG has officially launched its first mass-produced Robotaxi in Guangzhou, marking the first time a Chinese automaker has fully developed and mass-produced a Robotaxi with Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities. The Robotaxi, built on the XPENG GX platform, features four self-developed AI chips delivering 3,000 TOPS computing power and operates without LiDAR or HD maps, using a pure vision system with VLA 2.0 technology. XPENG plans pilot operations in late 2026 and aims for fully autonomous rides without safety officers by early 2027, positioning itself to lead large-scale commercialization of autonomous taxis in China.
