Vitalik Buterin says Bitcoin's core cryptography is highly secure against AI and quantum threats.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin expressed confidence that Bitcoin's security can withstand emerging threats from AI and quantum computing. He argued that Bitcoin's proof-of-work system and cryptographic defenses are extremely robust, making the chance of a successful attack on its core cryptography very small. Buterin also noted that technical upgrades, rather than social consensus, would be enough to address network-layer threats. While AI introduces new cybersecurity challenges, it also offers tools to strengthen blockchain security, and current quantum computers are not powerful enough to compromise Bitcoin's cryptography, with post-quantum solutions actively researched by the crypto community.
