United Airlines forecasts Q4 revenue growth above 20% despite rising fuel costs

United Airlines expects its fourth-quarter revenue to grow more than 20% year-on-year, up from a 17% increase in the third quarter, driven by strong customer demand and spending. The airline reported record third-quarter operating revenue of $17.9 billion and pre-tax earnings of $1.3 billion, despite a 62% rise in fuel expenses. Revenue growth was broad-based across premium cabins, economy, loyalty programs, cargo, and contracted business. United is also expanding its Starlink internet service on flights and investing in airport and onboard facility upgrades while increasing its credit facility to strengthen its financial position and aim for an investment-grade credit rating.

United Airlines' optimistic forecast for over 20% revenue growth in the fourth quarter coincides with positive investor sentiment on Pluang.
