In Q1 2026, Tron processed nearly $2 trillion in USDT transfers, reinforcing its role as a leading low-cost stablecoin settlement network. Its stablecoin market cap rose 4.9% to $85.8 billion, driven mainly by USDT, which accounts for 98.6% of Tron’s stablecoin supply. Tron also expanded institutional ties, joining Mastercard’s crypto program and gaining Anchorage custody support, while pushing into AI infrastructure with a $1 billion AI fund to develop autonomous agent-driven financial services. Despite a drop in new user addresses, transaction volume and active users grew, highlighting increased usage by existing participants. Tron’s future hinges on whether its AI strategy can translate into sustained on-chain activity and revenue without compromising its core low-fee settlement advantage.
